As soon as both switches are pushed outwards, the animal is prevented from leaving the house.

As soon as the red switch is on the inside and the green switch is on the outside, it prevents the animal from entering the house but can go outside at any time.

As soon as both switches are pushed inwards, the animal can move freely outwards and inwards.

As soon as the green switch is in and the red switch is in, the animal can enter the house but is prevented from moving out.
