Catnip or catnip is a plant of the perennial genus whose scents have various effects on cats. On the one hand, they encourage play, so if your cat is usually difficult or rarely lured out of its reserve, you can help with catnip. But Catnip also helps with nervous or stressed cats, but here it has a calming effect. For example, you can make it easier for your cat to transport it to the vet by putting some catnip in the transport box.
The plant can have a downright euphoric effect on cats, causing them to lick or roll over toys containing Catnip for minutes. How strongly the cat reacts to the catnip differs from cat to cat; catnip usually has a weaker effect on young or old cats.

Because catnip induces a high-like state, some cat owners worry that the plant may be addictive or harmful. In general, however, catnip is completely harmless to cats, and there are no known withdrawal symptoms. However, if your cat swallows too much catnip, it can cause gastrointestinal problems.
