The guinea pig cottage is already assembled. It is made of solid spruce wood because this material contains no harmful substances and is 100% biodegradable. It's also safe for your pet to chew on! All our rodent houses are glued and nailed with approx. 19 mm small nails. These cannot be avoided and are only used for stability until the glue hardens. However, the nails are only used very sparingly, because the main stability of the house comes from the glue
When used outdoors, it is advisable to treat the wood to protect it from moisture! (e.g. beeswax glaze)
