Puppy time actually ends when your dog no longer needs to be suckled. Colloquially, your dog baby is referred to as a puppy for another six to nine months after breastfeeding. Supplementary feeding is usually given at the end of the breastfeeding period until the puppy is completely used to solid food. In the six to nine months that follow, the "puppy" should be fed a diet that is specially tailored to this period of development. Puppies are particularly active during this time, as long as they are not sleeping. Compared to an adult dog, they therefore need about twice the amount of energy (relative to their body weight). Their stomachs are still very small and sensitive. To avoid overstretching, which can lead to obesity later on, we recommend feeding small portions several times a day. The composition of WILD DUCK - PUPPY dry food goes one step further. The individual feed components were put together with scientists according to type and quantity, which means that WILD DUCK PUPPY corresponds to the latest state of knowledge (about the nutritional needs of puppies). Superfoods, as well as natural prebiotics and nucleotides also contribute to this. MOS: is one of the dietary fibers and can improve digestion and strengthen the immune system. FOS: belongs to the group of prebiotic dietary fibers. Can keep the intestinal flora in balance and are considered natural antagonists of coliform bacteria. Nucleotides are among the basic building blocks of life and can have a positive effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Jerusalem artichoke belongs to the daisy family and can strengthen the immune system of mammals through a healthy intestinal flora and thus protect them from various bacteria and viruses. WILD DUCK - PUPPY combines the original with your dog's bed needs and thus enables a natural and species-appropriate daily diet. All the ingredients of this unique combination serve to maintain the health of your puppy.
Dog food modeled after the wolf
Wolves hunt their prey in the rocky mountains of North America, the arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe, and the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. This provides them with meat and nutrient-rich innards, but also with vegetables, fruits, berries, roots and herbs via the stomach contents of the prey. Grains are not included here. This is how the wolf gets the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and secondary plant substances it needs. Since the wolf is the ancestor of all dogs, Wolfsblut dry dog food is based on the natural eating habits of wolves. It contains a lot of meat or fish combined with superfoods that contain valuable ingredients - just like in nature, without any grain. The selection of unusual types of meat and nutrient-rich superfoods is based on the habitats of the wolf and their colorful variety of food. Wolfsblut offers every dog a species-appropriate and original diet and with its variety of varieties there is something for everyone that he can tolerate.
feeding recommendation
The amount of food must be adjusted according to the age, the breed, the demands of your dog and the climatic bedding conditions. Pregnant bitches have an increased nutrient bed requirement. During the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, feed should be increased by 25%. In the 7-9 week, the bed requirement increases by up to 75%. Ideally, this amount should be spread over 2-3 meals. Your dog should always have fresh water available.
